Welcome to the Third Grade!

Dear Third Grade Families,

We hope you had a wonderful summer! Welcome to an exciting year of learning in third grade!

The first day of school is fast approaching and we are busy preparing the classrooms. This year, the third grade team includes both new and returning teachers. General studies teacher, Hilary Davis, and general studies associate teacher, Alisa Cohen, are thrilled to be joining the Senesh community. Returning teachers, Ilana Swisa and Aliza Donath are excited to continue their work in third grade, teaching Hebrew and Judaic studies respectively.

We would love to find out more about your child before we begin the school year. Please take a moment and send an email to the third grade team answering some or all of the questions below:

We also wanted to update you on a change to our dismissal procedures. As the school continues to grow, we have worked together to plan and streamline the dismissal process. Our top priority is to work together to ensure the safety of our students. Therefore, the classroom teachers are now solely responsible for the dismissal of your children and will be maintaining the bus and dismissal lists for your child’s class. Please send all communication regarding dismissal, bus, and pick-up, directly to Hilary Davis, Ilana Swisa, and Alisa Cohen the day before. If there are last-minute and urgent changes, please send communication by 12:00 pm on the day of, in order to receive a confirmation email from the teachers. Teachers will be checking email at this time and creating the day’s final dismissal list. We appreciate your mindfulness, as we are not on email throughout the day as we work with your children.

Please send your child to school with a water bottle each day and a sweater; our powerful air conditioning system can make the classroom feel chilly!
