The LAST Day!

Dear Third Grade Families,

Wow! What an amazing year we had that zoomed from September to June FAR too quickly! Talia and I want to say thank you to all of our families for your wonderful support, moments of laughter, and selfless volunteering — the year would not have been as successful without each and every one of you!

Third Graders had an AMAZING performance, of the NYC Play, on Wednesday! They sang their hearts out, acted and spoke lines like professionals, and truly had a ball up there on stage. They wow’d EVERYONE in the audience, bringing each audience member to his or her feet for a standing ovation. Hannah Senesh’s Communications Office taped it, which can be found on our Facebook page. As well, the office created a slideshow for you! It can be found here.

Throughout the week, we asked students to reflect on the year, both aspects they will miss about third grade and what they look forward to in fourth. There were some grumbles that we were allowing each student to name only ONE thing.

Here are some responses students had, for what they will miss about third grade:

  • Easier homework
  • Wonderful and supportive teachers who help me learn a lot
  • All of the activities and subjects learned
  • The wonderful community and what they do for me
  • The routine — the morning will be very different next year, and I’m going to miss Early Bird
  • Being the younger buddy, and having an older buddy
  • The fun projects
  • Social Studies
  • Math
  • My desk spot
  • Field trips!

Here are some of the responses from students about what they are looking forward to, in fourth grade:

  • meeting new classmates
  • getting even better at reading!
  • being the OLDER buddy, and being partnered with adorable kindergarteners
  • being leaders of the lower school!
  • having a new teacher
  • getting to do the Oregon Trail!
  • being in the talent show again
  • the Sukkah Sleepover!
  • getting harder math

Shabbat Shalom, and have an AMAZING summer!

Hilary and Talia
