Lag Ba’Omer and Kesher Day

Hello Fourth Grade Families!
What a special week it’s been! After three days of hard work in class, the fourth grade enjoyed a day playing games at prospect park as part of our celebration of Lag Ba’Omer! Our students showed their spirit with team colors and cheers, and demonstrated their respect for the earth and others by keeping their spots in the park clean and litter-free.
Today, we had a wonderful time with our visiting friends and relatives at Kesher Day. The fourth grade performed the Native American song ‘Hayo Ipsinaya’ for their visitor, and enjoyed learning and activities with their guests in our English and Judaics classrooms. We’re looking forward to more learning and fun times ahead in the last six weeks of the school year!

SCIENCE with Sammi:
The fourth grade scientists have received their first two animals for their animal study unit! First, the students read about the African Dwarf Frog and proposed a habitat based on the reading and picture. They needed to focus on what the frogs would need for light, air, food, water, and shelter. They then set up their habitats and received their frogs! In the next class, they went through the same process before receiving their Fiddler Crabs. The scientists are excited to help care for these creatures which have already received names!
