Judaic Studies
Students completed amazing and creative projects to synthesize our learning from Chapter 11 of Bmidbar/Numbers. Students were asked to choose a project, and then to create their own rubric for how it should be evaluated. The class produced incredibly accomplished work – take a look!
Math
7X finished a challenging unit, “Number Patterns,” this week and will be bringing home their unit test. I am happy to announce that everyone did really well! It should be signed and returned by Tuesday, February 27th, the latest.
7Y started a new unit this week, “Inequalities,” and have been learning to understand the basic properties of inequalities, solve simple linear inequalities, compare and contrast the solutions of inequalities with different inequality signs, and represent the solution of a linear inequality on a number line.
Have a wonderful break!
Science
Students this week learned more about the water cycle and how the water is distributed on our planet. They created clouds in the lab and conducted an interactive water cycle game. They also discovered most of our water is in the ocean and is not freshwater. They were surprised to know only 3% is fresh. They were able to visualize this by measure the different water sources using different collection materials. After the break we will continue to focus on how we can gain freshwater from saltwater.

Students this week took a break from new vocabulary words and delved into a deeper analysis of words from weeks 1-5. Students created vocabulary skits, and they were so thoughtful and creative. I loved watching and learning from each one. Students also worked with a narrative partner to choose a short story to read and eventually, teach to the class. Students will also be continuing to work on their own short story. Have a wonderful and relaxing break!
