Letter from the Board October 14, 2014

Hello again!  Please read:  I have two important things to tell you.

First, as you know, the Strategic Plan interviews are happening next week.  PLEASE COME

We want to hear what you have to say about what should and should not change about Senesh so we can plan for that!  Put one of these four times in your calendar and COME:

Monday, Oct. 20:  8-9am or 7-8pm (childcare provided for the later session)

Tuesday, Oct. 21:  8-9am or 3:30-4:30 pm (childcare provided for the later session)

Second, I want to make sure you know who is on the Board.  The Committee on Trustees (Kitty Linder (Chair), Tori Rosen, Aliza Kline, Nicole Nash, and me) is responsible for ensuring that we have a strong Board.  A strong school board requires (a) a mix of school parents and those who come from outside the school, (b) members with various areas of expertise, and (c) uniformity in commitment to the school and its mission.  Roughly speaking, our current Board (15 members) includes 8 school parents, 2 with expertise in Jewish education, several with deep professional and board work for non-profits (both Jewish and not), 2 librarians, 3 lawyers, some operations gurus, some entrepreneurs, some with deep roots in our Brownstone Brooklyn community (both Jewish and more broadly), and all with a single goal in mind when it comes to Hannah Senesh:  planning for the long-term health and vibrancy of our school.  Please check out the website’s Board page for short biographies of each of our members:   http://www.hannahsenesh.org/about-us/board-of-trustees

Finally, thanks to all the Sukkahpallooza organizers, hosts, and hoppers – it was a great event!  Chag s’ameach, again!

Best,

Emily Reisbaum, Hannah Senesh Board Chair
