Letter from the Board June 19, 2014

Mazal tov to all on another year of learning, growth, and community at Senesh—both in the classroom and on the Board.

The Board has had a very productive year! We have revitalized our Committee on Trustees (which oversee trustees, board development and training, and helps plan for new members); formalized our Head of School Evaluation Committee; overseen the school’s budget and finance; and worked tirelessly to raise essential money. In addition, using generous gifts and loans, we have bought another property to plan for our future. Please see below for a list of our board and committee members.

Endless thanks to Amy Glosser for her hard work and leadership, this year, and so many years before. To ensure a smooth transition from Amy to me, all year-long, we have met with Nicole every Tuesday morning to discuss both Board and day-to-day issues at school.

Next year, the Board will continue to focus on these staple Board issues, in addition to developing a strategic plan, participating in the renewal of our accreditation among the National Association of Independent Schools, and fostering the school’s commitment to academic excellence, mitzvot, and community. Your input is important to all of these endeavors.

In addition, I hope that you will join me in supporting Senesh. Please get involved and help us strengthen our community. Volunteer for the Gala or a Parent’s Association Event. Organize a class gathering. Host a Shabbat dinner. Give. Ask someone outside the school to give. Don’t know what to do – ask a Board member! Whatever works for you . . . . supporting Senesh is such fulfilling and important work.
