6th Grade News: 11/27-12/1/17

SCIENCE Students continued their discoveries of genetics by creating custom bugs! They flipped coins in order to produce key dominant or recessive traits of their bug. Then they built their bugs from an assortment of everyday parts. 5th Grade Week of 12/1

Hi 5th grade parents! This was a great week in 5th grade. We changed up how we do recess and now there is a designated area for large group games and an area for smaller group hang outs and games. We are now doing recess with the 6th graders. In advisory we practiced mindfulness based on the idea of spreading happiness. We also got “spiritual chevrutas” who we will share ideas with during mindfulness advisory. In Thursday advisory we continued our work with our Empathy and Kindness unit. Hebrew This week as part of our unit on Music the 7th graders read articles and research on how Music has a direct impact on our brains and how it influences our life since the time of the Bible and till today. Shabbat shalom, Yehuda Science The 7th Grade STEAM projects are complete and students are excited to demonstrate their function next Tuesday during STEAM Fest. A Prideful Publishing Party!

Dear Third Grade Families, How wonderful it was to see so many of you at school today, both through the wonders of technology and in person! A round of applause to our Third Graders for presenting all of their hard work through their Judaic Studies, Hebrew and General Studies projects. Hello Fourth Grade Families! We hope you all had a meaningful and restful Thanksgiving weekend. It’s hard to believe, but we are already in December, which means that winter vacation is a mere three weeks away!
